Lok Sabha Adjourned Sine Die Amid Protest Over Farm Laws, Pegaus Snooping Row

The Rajya Sabha on Wednesday passed the Constitution amendment bill to reestablish the powers of states to have their own arrangements of OBCs for reservation in employments and educational institutes, finishing a three-week halt between the public authority and the opposition in the House over different issues. The House additionally cleared the General Insurance Business (Nationalization) Amendment Bill, 2021.

While moving the Constitution (One Hundred and Twenty-Seventh Amendment) Bill, 2021, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Virendra Kumar said the bill will assist with reestablishing the powers of states to have their own arrangements of OBCs which was nullified by the Supreme Court. He expressed gratitude toward the Prime minister and different parties and their individuals for developing an agreement to take up the significant bill that looks to make history by giving reservation to other in backward classes in the country.

In the interim, another bill–The National Commission for Homeopathy (Amendment) Bill, 2021–is cleared by the House.
