RBI Issues List Of Bank Holidays For New Year 2021

The Reserve Bank of India has distributed the rundown of days banks will stay non-operational in 2021. According to RBI, banks will stay shut on Sundays also remain shut on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. If a month has five Saturdays, the fifth Saturday will be a working day for the bank.
According to a report, to celebrate New Year, the RBI has pronounced a bank holiday in Chennai, Aizawl, Gangtok, Imphal and Shillong. Aside from these spots, banks will stay operational across any remaining significant urban cities on 1 January, 2021. In Aizwal, banks will stay shut on 2 January for New Year celebrations also, while banks in Kolkata will stay non-operational on 12 January attributable to Swami Vivekananda's birthday. In Ahmedabad, Gangtok and Hyderabad banks will stay shut on 14 January because of Makar Sankranti, while banks in Chennai will down their screens from 15-17 January.

Aside from different days, all banks will stay shut on Republic Day too.

Aside from the previously mentioned dates, banks will stay shut in particular states on the accompanying dates:

-15 January in Hyderabad because of Thiruvalluvar Day, Magh Bihu and Tusu Puja.

-20 January in Chandigarh by virtue of Guru Govind Singh Ji's birthday.

-23 January in Agartala by virtue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's introduction to the world commemoration.

-25 January in Imphal because of Imoinu Iratpa.

According to a report in DNA, while banks will actually stay shut on these dates, mobile and internet banking will stay operational. The year 2021 will see 40 holidayss for banks.
