Rahul, Opposition Parties Joins farmers Protest At Jantar Mantar Against Kala Kanoon

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and other Opposition leaders showed up at Jantar Mantar today to stretch out help to ranchers in their protest against farm laws by raising slogans with a banner "Save Farmers, Save India".
Calling the three homestead laws "Kala kanoon", Rahul Gandhi said that all opposition groups have accumulated at Jantar Mantar to stretch out their help to the ranchers. "We need a conversation over Pegasus, yet they (Center) are not allowing it to occur. Narendra Modi has interrupted each Indian's mobile phone," he added.

Responding to the opposition stretching out help to the stirring ranchers at Jantar Mantar, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that assuming they are truly worried about ranchers, the public authority is prepared to examine the issues in the both the Houses. "For what reason is the opposition not prepared to talk? This shows they simply want to be in the media's spotlight," he said.

 

'Won't permit Parliament to work until the ranch laws are canceled'

He further said that the opposition won't permit the Parliament to work until the homestead laws are revoked. TMC, BSP and AAP skirted the Opposition's protest against ranch laws. Recently, the AAP had said it will join the protest drove by Kharge.

  Attacking the Wayanad MP, AAP leader Sushil Kumar Gupta told news portal ANI, "In case the Opposition's protest is driven by a party chief like Rahul Gandhi, then, at that point, for what reason could we go? He hasn't been fruitful in raising ranchers' issues."
A gathering of 200 ranchers are camping at Jantar Mantar since July 22 and are holding the 'Kisan Sansad' on each functioning day of the monsoon season to challenge the three homestead laws.

 

Some political groups discussing bills yet not raising ranchers' issues: SKM

On Thursday, the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) said numerous political parties are taking part in discussions in Parliament on different bills however are not raising their requests, and cautioned them against taking "anti-people" positions.
"The SKM is observing the different political parties and their parliamentarians as to the people groups' whip gave by it to the MPs. It is watching that parties like BJD, TRS, YSRCP, AIADMK, TDP and JDU have been taking part in discussions on different Bills, or have acted against the people groups' whip," it said in a proclamation. It further cautioned them against anti-people positions.

SKM, an umbrella assemblage of 40 ranchers' associations, had on July 14 gave a 'peoples' whip, guiding all MPs to raise the requests of the agitating ranchers in the Parliament which incorporates the annulment of the three homestead laws and a lawful assurance of getting minimum support price (MSP).
